Save time and effort and avoid frustration. Ask a librarian!
Librarians' primary goal is to teach you to find and evaluate information.
Meeting with a librarian in person or on Zoom is often the most efficient way to get research help.
When classes are in session, walk into the Library and visit with a librarian at the Reference Desk Monday through Friday during most hours the Library is open. No appointment needed.
For detailed or complex questions, you may wish to schedule an appointment with a librarian to have our undivided attention in person in the Library or on Zoom. Contact any of the librarians below to make an appointment.

Chat with us to get research help 24/7. When classes are in session, a Normandale librarian answers chat questions Monday through Friday during most hours the Library is open. Whenever Normandale librarians are not available, your question will be answered by a librarian from another college.
When it is helpful, and if you agree, chats may seamlessly transition to Zoom, so we can talk and share screens.
To start a chat, select the Chat with a Librarian button on the right side of this screen or Chat with a Librarian to chat in a new window.
Use our Ask a Librarian contact form to send us your question. On weekdays when classes are in session, we will reply within one day. On weekends, holidays, and class breaks, we will reply on the next class day.
Email is not conducive to in-depth research help. For in-depth research help, meet with us in person or on Zoom.
Call 952-358-8290 and ask to speak with a librarian. When classes are in session, a librarian is available Monday through Friday during most hours the Library is open.
