Tutoring and Writing Center

The Tutoring and Writing Center provides tutoring for specific subjects.

We offer:

• Peer tutoring in most STEM subjects
• Peer writing tutors to assist with any writing assignment for any course
• Academic Reading and Writing Tutors who assist students who use American English as an Additional Language (ESL)
• PASS – Peer Assisted Study Sessions
• Tutor.com (access is through D2L)

The resources are available for all students of Normandale Community College at no charge. Our goals are to support student success, to encourage active learning, and to foster independence. We are here for you!

• We offer both in-person and online appointments.
• Students may book one session with each tutor each day. Students may work longer with a tutor if no one is waiting for assistance.
• Walk-ins may be available for students; however, booked appointments take priority.

We are located on the second floor of College Services next to the computer lab in room C2190.

Calculator Borrowing Program

Students are now able to borrow a calculator from the Tutoring and Writing Centers free of charge for either one day or one week (renewal is also possible). Please complete the application.

Once approved, you may pick up the calculator from the Tutoring and Writing Centers with a photo ID. Charges may be issued to students who do not return the calculator.
