Normandale counselors teach CCD1170 Career Exploration (1 credit) to help you begin the career exploration process. In this class, you will take a variety of assessments and inventories to learn about your interests, values, personality, and skills. Discover how they can relate to your choice of a college major and career and learn about what options are available to you. Multiple CCD 1170 course sections are offered each spring and fall semester.
Course Description: This course is intended for students who are undecided about their major or career, seeking confirmation about the direction they are considering, or pursuing a career change. It is designed to help students define their interests, values, personality, skills, and strengths through various assessment tools, and relate these to their choice of college major and career. Students will explore the world of work, examine educational options, apply this information to the decision-making process, and develop an action plan for next steps in career planning.
