This program will help prepare you to work as a technician in industries which rely on vacuum-based processes to create and manufacture products. 

Vacuum and thin film technology encompasses a variety of disciplines such as engineering, math, computer technology, manufacturing processes, and chemistry.

Where Will Vacuum and Thin Film Technology Take You?

With a vacuum and thin film technology degree, your specialized skill set will be in high demand by local and national companies.  

This technology is used in research, product development, and manufacturing to produce many everyday goods such as digital electronic components, energy efficient glass, metallized films used for food packaging, and more.  

As a vacuum and thin film technician, you’ll have important training and skills to perform a variety of functions relating to this critical enabling technology. Typical duties include:  building, validating, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting vacuum-based equipment as well as providing advice on the use of this equipment and processes supported by this technology.
