Engineering is a field with a lot of career options — and well-paying jobs. As an engineer, you can work in a variety of fields, and in a variety of settings, depending on the type of engineering you choose to pursue.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment in engineering occupations is projected to grow 6 percent from 2020 to 2030. About 146,000 new jobs are projected to be added.
The median annual wage for engineering occupations was $83,160 in May 2020, which was higher than the median annual wage for all occupations of $41,950.
