Economics

Economics is the study of how societies, businesses and people manage their scarce resources. It provides a new way to think about the world. You’ll develop an analytical mindset that is invaluable in a wide variety of careers.

If you have an interest in business, law, government, or non-profits — then economics provides a great start to your education. You’ll learn important problem-solving and critical thinking skills that are applicable to many careers.

In two years, you’ll be ready to continue your education seamlessly through our transfer program to seven Minnesota State universities.  All Economics classes, and the degree, can be completed online.

Where Will an Economics Degree Take You?

With an economics degree, you’ll be able to pursue various careers. You’ll develop analytical, problem-solving and communication skills which are great foundations for many occupations.

You’ll learn to think more critically about issues we all face – not just commercial matters such as supply and demand, but also societal concerns such as government intervention, pollution control, and inequality.

Some economics majors become business or government analysts. But many graduates use this data-driven way of thinking to become successful in many fields, including business, law, government, nonprofit work and international relations.
